Nothing General About This Session

The main event of the conference kicked off with an awe inspiring international flag salute carried out by delegates from each country represented at NAR, rounded out with a moving rendition of the National Anthem performed by 2012 REALTORS® Got Talent winner. The Good Neighbor Awards recipients were highlighted for all of the amazing work that they do in our communities, and there was sincere gratitude shown for all of the REALTOR® of the Year Award winners.

The keynote delivered by Hillary Clinton was exhilarating and encouraged everyone to be the best that they can be to effect positive change. She suggested that it’s time we get back to putting common good ahead of personal interest, to overcome the gridlock that afflicts us. She talked about the need to create jobs that will stimulate our economy, and to start investing in our human infrastructure by helping young people build skills that will sustain our future. She reminded us that we have excellent work to do to create possibilities, and that we must decide to forge a future that is worthy of our country.

She also spoke candidly about her belief that a home is a safe loving place that we are fortunate to have, and embraced the opportunity of owning a home and a piece of America. In her closing remarks, she stated that we can rise to all of the challenges that we face. America is still an indispensable nation, no one else can do what we can do, and we need to make up our minds to move into the future with confidence and optimism.
