10 Social Media Do’s and Don’t’s

There was standing room only for a review of the following ten tips from Nobu Hata, Director of Digital Engagement, National Association of REALTORS®:

  • Embrace concepts, not brands.
  • Protect your clients, listings, and reputation.
  • Infuse your daily practice with some “social” element.
  • Adhere to MLS and other copyright laws and guidelines.
  • Don’t be a jerk, but don’t feed them either.
  • Use social to learn, but always think local.
  • Be “social” in your marketing; think beyond listings.
  • Use social media to differentiate, inform, project.
  • Allow your clients to be “social” advocates for you.
  • Remember: the social web is now mobile.
