The official kick-off to NAR Annual is NAR 360. It’s a power packed hour — a 360 review — of everything that is happening with our national association.
President Gary Thomas welcomed us and announced that it’s good to be back in San Francisco, where NAR has held more annual conferences than any other city. He gave us brief highlights of things that occurred in past conferences here.
President-Elect Steve Brown recapped the 2013 Strategic Planning Committee’s work with Chair Shannon Williams King, followed by Vice President Leslie Rouda Smith and CEO Dale Stinton, who covered our public awareness campaign and shared some clips from our current campaign. 84% of buyers said the ads make them more positive about homeownership and more confident in buying or selling a home. Also, 93% of home sellers report that it is easier to sell a home with a REALTOR® than without one.
Vice President Bill Brown and Immediate Past President Moe Veissi covered several regulatory issues that NAR is tackling right now, such as flood insurance and mortgage lending challenges. Then Chris Polychron, NAR First Vice President, gave a REALTOR® Party update. President Gary Thomas came back to the stage to announce that Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, North Dakota, Utah, Vermont, the Virgin Islands, and West Virginia had all won the coveted RPAC President’s Cup!
Treasurer Bill Armstrong gave a financial update and announced that NAR is considering redeveloping our Chicago property! More details to come in Regional Caucus meetings.
NAR Annual is officially kicked off! Enjoy every moment!
