I am excited! I can’t wait to get out to San Francisco for my first NAR annual conference. Although I have been a real estate professional for 13 years, I have never had the opportunity to attend the event live. I am definitely going to make the most out of my trip.
Now where to start? I am also a bit overwhelmed. Does anyone else feel like this? As I am trying to plan out my schedule I am realizing how much stuff there is to do during the event. Not only are there amazing events and speakers, but so many great vendors and professionals in our industry that I would like to sit down and spend some time with. Then you have the parties. Every night there is a different cocktail party or event I can attend. I seriously cannot wait.
So here is what I have planned out so far. Not sure where I am going to fit sleep into all this but I am going to make the most of my time in San Francisco. For me collaboration and relationship building are the cornerstones of my real estate career and the programs being offered support that initiative.
Thursday I will be attending REBarCamp in the morning and afternoon. I have always wanted to attend one of these events and from what I see on the Twitter stream (#narannual), there should be some great professionals in attendance that I can learn from. Next up is the Innovative Hackathon being sponsored by Realogy. Realogy is opening up their feeds to allow innovators to work their magic and come up with programs to support their systems. Should be very interesting.
Thursday night is the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate cocktail party. Being that I am the Director of Learning for BHGRE, this is my chance to catch up with all of our brokers, associates, and partners in the industry.
Friday Morning is class time. I am looking forward to hearing some great speakers and also creating content for the Conference Live site. This will give me some time to learn something new and start creating content for all the folks watching from their computers. Friday afternoon I will be hosting the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate booth as the Expo has its grand opening. Although it is sold out, I am trying to get a ticket to the YPN event. Looks like that will be a hot event! I noticed there are several other parties and events going on that night so there will be plenty to do.
Saturday morning I will be presenting at the Women’s Council meetings on Mastering Your Listing presentation. I love training and am honored to have this opportunity to speak in front of an amazing group of professionals. Later that day it is back to the booth and then the General Session in the afternoon. The Trulia/Market Leader event that evening is on the agenda and I am looking forward to seeing lots of great folks there.
My final day before heading back to NJ is Sunday so the plan is to attend as many classes as possible but also spend some time with my wife who is joining me. I think the plan is to head out to Napa Valley in the morning and have lunch in St. Helena before heading back to catch some afternoon sessions.
Wow. So much to do and learn. So many great people to meet. Can’t wait to see you all there.
