What to eat, drink, and see while you are here.
There are so many places to enjoy while in San Francisco; I wanted to share some of my favorite spots that are guaranteed to be a hit and a highlight of your San Francisco adventure.
Watch the Bay Bridge Light Show at Restaurants Epic or Waterbar
The Bay Lights is an iconic light sculpture designed by world-renowned artist Leo Villareal. It’s absolutely amazing to watch! The best place to enjoy the show is at the restaurants Epic or Waterbar located on the Embarcadero. Try to get a window seat!
Go Dancing at the Top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel
While there are many dance clubs in town, none of them has a view like the Top of the Mark. It’s on the 19th floor of the Mark Hopkins hotel and has great live bands for everyone to enjoy. Get there early, because it fills up fast!
Grab Drinks at the Rooftop Bar – El Techno in the Mission District
El Techno is a hidden gem that only the locals really know about. It’s in the famous Mission District and boasts south side views of the city. After drinks, head downstairs to grab dinner at LoLinda – an Argentinian steakhouse. Be sure to have the Rib Eye…it’s to die for!
Try the World Famous Ginger Gimlet While Listening to Some Jazz at BIX Restaurant on Gold Street
Bix is located on a romantic alley in charming Jackson Square. They are known for having some of the city’s best cocktails, but are famous for their Ginger Gimlet. Be careful though…they go down like water!
Enjoy Our Local Speakeasy at Bourbon & Branch
Bourbon & Branch is a glimpse back to the 1920s and the era of Prohibition when the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages were outlawed. You’ll experience the ambiance of that time in an actual speakeasy that operated illegally at this location from 1921 to 1933.
The password to get in is “Library.”
A Little Secret Right Across the Street from the Convention Center
Most people don’t know that right above the Moscone Center on the upper terrace are two little restaurants with amazing views of the city. B Bar & Restaurant has great food and drinks available and right next to them is Samovar Tea Lounge. They have amazing teas and international cuisine to choose from.
I hope you enjoy my hometown as much as I do. If you have any questions or would like any recommendations, leave me a comment here and I’ll be sure to respond. Enjoy NAR and San Francisco!
