Learning, Leading, and Laughs – The 3 L’s of the Convention

Many of my colleagues ask me, “How do I do it all, and what do I get out out attending the NAR Conference & Expo?” My answer is simple: This place gives me energy!!! I’m so blessed to participate in this experience, where I get to meet the best and brightest people in our industry. I connect with friends from across the globe, and I learn from the best about how to enrich my life, my business and my leadership journey.

Day Two of the convention was chock full of learning, beginning with federal housing issues at the Federal Housing Policy committee. The information that was shared directly relates to my clients and effects my business on a daily basis. It’s great to be a part of the process in moving NAR recommended policies through the VA, FHA and even USDA.

The learning continued over at the Women’s Council, as I was oriented in my incoming role as the 2013 Oregon State President-Elect. My leadership training began with Women’s Council in 2005, and has molded me into the leader that I strive to become. It’s always a pleasure and privilege to share proven strategies from other chapter leaders around the country. I’m passionate about learning to be the best leader so that I can serve our members at the highest level possible. I truly believe that Women’s Council is exactly the training I need to develop me as a great leader.

And of course my day would not be complete without sharing some laughs and a little love with all of my peeps. The night began at the Young Professionals Network reception, where good friends came together to network, laugh, celebrate, and connect. It was a fantastic event, and a place where YPN’ers can bond with new and old friends, and forge life long friendships.

The laughs continued as we ventured out into Universal Studios for REALTORS┬« Night Out. We had a blast riding rides, creating our own “dance party USA,” and of course a little bit of power shopping. Day Two in Orlando has been one of my favorite convention days in the last seven years that I’ve attended. I’m so ready to rock the next two days and absorb as much of the amazing energy as I possibly can!!!
